What Happens When a Knomart Job Is Disputed

Most Knomart jobs should move through a simple payment path: the opportunity is funded, the member completes the work, the merchant confirms it, and the payment is released. But what happens when the merchant and member genuinely disagree about the work?

A dispute is different from silence

This distinction matters. If a merchant simply does not respond after the work is completed, that silence is not automatically a dispute. Knomart has a seven-day payment-release backstop so that a member's earned money does not remain frozen simply because a busy merchant has not opened the app.

A genuine dispute is different: it is a real disagreement about the work that requires the platform to step in.

Knomart can adjudicate genuine disputes

When a genuine dispute exists, Knomart adjudicates it. The purpose is to give the disagreement a platform-level resolution process rather than leaving the member and merchant to resolve every issue privately.

This is important because the payment was already funded for the specific opportunity. The money is held in a segregated client account, separate from ordinary operating funds, while the work moves through the confirmation and payment process.

What should you do as a member?

If you believe a completed job is being disputed unfairly, keep the facts of the assignment clear. Your strongest position is evidence of what was requested, what you completed and how the completed work relates to the original opportunity.

Do not assume that a delayed response automatically means your payment has been rejected. A merchant being silent is not the same thing as a genuine dispute.

Why the platform needs a dispute process

A marketplace cannot rely entirely on one side's word. Merchants need protection when work genuinely does not match what was agreed, while members need protection from having legitimate completed work rejected without a fair process.

Knomart's model therefore separates ordinary confirmation from genuine disputes. Normal jobs should move through confirmation and release. Genuine disagreements can be adjudicated by Knomart.

The important distinction

There are three different situations to keep separate:

  • Work completed and confirmed: the payment follows the normal release process.
  • Merchant does not respond: silence is not a dispute, and the seven-day release backstop applies.
  • Genuine dispute: Knomart adjudicates the disagreement.

This structure protects the payment journey without turning every delayed response into a conflict.

Keep the process clear

You do not need to panic when a merchant has not immediately responded. Follow the opportunity requirements, complete the work properly and keep a clear record of what you delivered.

Silence is not a dispute. Genuine disputes are handled by Knomart. Normal completed work follows the confirmation and payment-release process.
