Agent and Partner Journeys: From Member to Business Owner

A recurring series following agents through certification, the first merchants, month six, and the decision to register a business.

The agent route is the clearest path in Knomart Community from being a member to owning a business. It is also the one most likely to be misrepresented, so this series is written with that risk in mind.

What each journey will follow

  • Getting certified — the $100 agent track, the exams, and the merchant required to complete it
  • The first merchants — how they were found, and how long it took
  • Month six, which is where most of the attrition happens
  • The book as it stands — how many merchants, how many paying
  • Whether they registered as a Partner, and what changed if they did

Month six is the honest part

An agent's first months are dominated by setup fees, because a book weighted toward free merchants pays a setup fee and then very little until those merchants convert. That is a real experience, and an agent who has not been told about it in advance tends to conclude the model does not work.

Every journey in this series will state what the agent was earning at month six, whatever that figure was.

Including the ones who stopped

Agents who tried and gave up will appear here alongside those who built a book. Their reasons are more useful to a prospective agent than another success story, and leaving them out would make the series an advertisement.

What the numbers will and will not be

Commission is 50% of what a merchant pays, monthly, for as long as they stay. That rate is fixed and can be stated. What an individual agent earns depends entirely on how many merchants they signed and how many are paying — so figures here are always specific to a person, never presented as typical.

Why it is not running yet

A journey to month six requires an agent who has reached month six. Publishing a first-month story as though it demonstrated the model would misrepresent the hardest part of the job.
