No-Shows on Knomart: The 7-Day Suspension Explained

Accepting work and not appearing costs a merchant real money. Here is the rule, why it exists and what happens if it was not your fault.

A member who is selected for work and does not appear triggers a seven-day suspension from applying. The rule is simple; the reasoning behind it is worth understanding.

What a no-show costs the merchant

The merchant funded the work before it was posted. They reviewed applicants, chose one, turned the others away and planned around the arrival. When nobody comes, they have lost the day and the other candidates have moved on.

A merchant this happens to twice stops posting. That removes opportunities from every member in the area, which is why this is treated as a community problem rather than a private one between two people.

What the suspension is

Seven days without applying for new work. Everything else stays: your profile, your badges, your history, your ratings, your wallet. It is a pause on one activity, not a removal from the community.

It escalates on repetition, because a pattern is a different thing from an incident.

Cancelling is not a no-show

If you cannot do the work, say so as early as you can. A merchant told the day before can select someone else; a merchant told nothing has lost the job. Withdrawing is a normal part of the system and is treated very differently from silence.

The behaviour being penalised is not being unable to attend. It is leaving the merchant to find out on their own.

When something genuinely went wrong

Illness, accidents and emergencies happen. The right response is to tell the merchant as soon as you are able, with whatever explanation you have. A real explanation given late is far better than none, and it is what allows the situation to be looked at rather than simply recorded.

Only accept what you can deliver

Most no-shows start with an over-optimistic acceptance: work in a place too far away, at a time already committed, or a task beyond current ability. Declining an unsuitable job costs nothing at all.
